The agreement was signed by Tariq Salman, Chief Technical Officer PTCL and Maj Gen.(R) Shaukat Sultan, Executive Director Bahria Town in the presence of Walid Irshaid, President and CEO PTCL and Malik Riaz Hussain, Ex-Chairman Bahria Town. Dr. Riaz Inayat, PTCL Executive Vice President (EVP) Network Development;  Cdr. (R) M. Ilyas along with other senior officials from PTCL and Bahria Town were also present at the occasion.
Tariq Salman, Chief Technical Officer PTCL while speaking at the signing ceremony said, “We are pleased to partner with Bahria Town and look forward to a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship. Over the years, PTCL has made concerted efforts to deploy world-class telecom infrastructure for the development of the country and its economy”.
“Our goal is to enable our society to get the most benefit out of our advanced ICT solutions and provide our customers with value-centric services”, he added further.
Maj Gen. (R) Shaukat Sultan, Executive Director Bahria Town said at the occasion, “It’s a matter of great pride for Bahria Town to partner with PTCL, country’s largest and leading telecommunication services provider. We understand the needs for improvement in the ICT sector, and for this reason out of the six fiber optic networks that PTCL has deployed, this would be the second one for Bahria town residents. We plan to move forward with the same spirit for future projects as well”.
PTCL would be using GPON (Fiber to the home) technology, considered as the strongest candidate for widespread deployments. Bahria Town would provide the space for PTCL Exchange building, EVO BTS Tower and indoor spacing for staff along with the provision of space for PTCL Customer Support Center. Moreover, un-interrupted power supply will also be ensured to these facilities.
This is the sixth PTCL deployment of such high-speed network in Pakistan. Previously, the company has connected Cantonment Exchange Karachi, Gulberg Exchange Lahore, F-11 Exchange Islamabad, Centaurus and Bahria Town Golf City Exchange with its latest fiber optic network.
